Serving the disability community since 1974, this employer provide disability services throughout Aotearoa New Zealand, on behalf of its funders Whaikaha (The Ministry of Disabled People) and Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC). Funding for this employeris also provided by direct services to the community, via online purchasing and the EASIE living store. Services also provided include Disability Information and Advisory Services, provision of equipment and housing and vehicle modification services and managing claims for hearing aids and children’s spectacles.
Now is an exciting time for an experienced Chief Executive or senior leader to take the helm. In the last 12-18 months substantial work has been done to support this employer's operation as a stand-alone subsidiary. The new CEO will be expected to take the organisation to the next level and position the organisation and its systems for the Enabling Good Lives principles.
The Chief Executive, with the Board, will influence and execute the organisational strategy consistent with the health and disability government strategies of Pae Ora (Healthy Futures Bill 2022), the New Zealand Disability Strategy and the Enabling Good Lives principles. The role is based in Palmerston North, and is accountable for delivering the organisational strategy, encompassing a focus on business growth, brand promotion, financial sustainability, and operational integrity. The Chief Executive will be responsible for leading and modelling a high-performance culture consistent with the organisational vision and values, ensuring effective relationships with all stakeholders and embedding and enacting Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
The new Chief Executive will have at least 3-5 years’ experience working at executive/senior leadership level with exposure to health and disability services, and experience reporting to a Board of Directors. They will be commercially astute and experienced in making prudent and robust financial and budgetary decisions, have a proven ability to successful lead organisational change, think strategically, conscious of the “bigger picture” and the long-term future environment. The Chief Executive will also bring a proven ability to inspire and foster team commitment, spirit, pride, trust, and facilitate cooperation and motivate team members to accomplish organisational goals.
