About the organisation
This is a highly respected nationwide organisation in growth mode. They own care homes and villages providing a variety of living options, including independent living, assisted living, aged care and dementia care. They currently have 36 villages with more under construction. Some of their growth has come through acquisition, including this Karori facility.
About the Job
This is a Karori, Central Wellington based opportunity, working initially on an 18-month fixed term contract until 2024. This role has a strong clinical management focus, where you will lead village and clinical teams ensuring residents receive the highest standard of care. This is a 90-bed facility with 24 beds being secure Dementia care and the balance across Hospital and Rest Home level care.
This opportunity has come about due to retirement. Under the incumbent's direction it enjoyed high occupancy and an excellent reputation. There is nothing to fix here, rather high standards to uphold.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll have responsibility for all aspects of the village, including strategic planning, service and care delivery, asset and financial management and provide leadership and development opportunities to the high performing care team, ensuring the village remains vibrant and ready for the future.
About you
You’ll know that this is a job where no two days are the same. You must be equal parts efficient and empathetic. In addition:
- We require a Registered Nurse with current practicing nursing certificate (APC)
- Previous experience in a clinical leadership or operational management position. Ideally this will be from within aged care
- Proven ability to quickly build relationships with residents, staff, and internal/external customers.
- Excellent financial acumen, including sales focus and P&L ownership.
- Leadership of teams and culture experience, a natural leader who is a skilled communicator and adept at navigating through the day to day demands of a busy vibrant village.
- Strategic planning experience to be able to contribute to the big picture, but equally look outside the industry to innovate.
