About the role:
As Tech Lead, you’ll work closely with the Head of Technology to guide and support the small but capable engineering team (currently four developers). This role balances hands-on technical contributions with leadership and mentorship responsibilities.
You’ll play a pivotal part in ensuring the systems are robust, scalable, and secure, while supporting your team to grow and thrive. Whether it’s troubleshooting production issues under pressure, leading architecture discussions, or mentoring developers—you’ll be the calm, solutions-focused leader who keeps things moving forward.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the development team
- Contribute hands-on across the stack (React, JavaScript ecosystem, Rails backend, serverless architecture)
- Collaborate with the Head of Tech to define technical roadmaps and architectural direction
- Lead troubleshooting and incident response efforts with a calm, solutions-oriented approach
- Champion code quality, security best practices, and continuous improvement
- Support customer-facing teams during technical escalations and collaborate on solutions
Tech stack highlights:
- Frontend: React, JavaScript/TypeScript
- Backend: Ruby on Rails
- Infrastructure: Serverless (e.g., Vercel, Netlify, Cloudflare Workers)
- Data & Analytics: Tinybird, Clickhouse, event streams, queues
About you:
- Proven experience leading or mentoring developers in a technical environment
- Strong hands-on coding skills, particularly in React/JavaScript ecosystems
- Solid understanding of modern web architecture, DevOps, and cloud platforms
- Calm and confident problem-solver, especially under pressure during production incidents
- Excellent communication skills to work across technical and non-technical teams
- Bonus: familiarity with Rails, serverless deployments, security and compliance (e.g., SOC2), or SaaS/startup experience
