Senior Procurement Advisor

The Role

• Support the procurement manager to ensure value and compliance.
• Provide expert advice and guidance to internal staff on procurement best practices.
• Act as the primary internal contact.
• Employ advanced negotiation skills.
• Build and maintain relationships with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
• Oversee, draft, review, and monitor contracts.
• Lead complete (end-to-end) tender processes aligned with best practice standards.

About You

We are looking for a procurement professional with a background in public sector procurement.

• A deep, current understanding of New Zealand Government Procurement Rules and associated operational systems (e.g., GETS).
• Demonstrated capability to quickly resolve issues and apply strong analytical thinking to complex situations.
• Exceptional communication, facilitation, and influencing skills across all levels.
• Proven capacity to manage workload, meet tight deadlines, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• The ability to establish trust and credibility quickly with a diverse range of internal colleagues.
• Confidence to take full ownership and leadership of competitive tender processes from start to finish.

You will have senior-level procurement experience, preferably gained within a Government or might be a strong Advisor ready to transition to a senior role, having successfully led end-to-end procurement processes.
