Senior People & Capability Advisor

Our client is the largest forestry grower in Hawke's Bay and the largest producer of appearance-grade lumber in Aotearoa. Their work to harvest and produce timber materials is critical for so many industries here and internationally, and we are excited to be on the search for a Senior People & Capability Advisor to join their wonderful P&C team.

Reporting into the People & Capability Development Manager, this is a new role designed to lead and support key areas of the business; there are many crucial stakeholders, so engagement and communication across all levels is paramount, as is your ability to navigate the needs of individuals through the development of strong interpersonal relationships whilst balancing the business strategy at the same time.



A bit about the role:

  • Implementation and support of the leadership development framework rollout across the business
  • Assist to provide development and coaching to leaders throughout the business
  • Diagnose organisational development issues and develop strategies and actions to enable change
  • Develop and deliver best practice HR initiatives, policies and processes
  • Assist with employee relations where required
  • Drive continuous improvement measures across the wider P&C team to improve people performance and culture development

A bit about you:

  • You'll have around 5 years' experience, and driven to take your career to the next level in this people and capability development role.
  • You'll carry a relevant tertiary HR or related people oriented qualification
  • You'll have demonstrable experience in driving strategic HR initiatives and programmes
  • prior involvement in leadership framework rollout, and experience in employee relations
  • You'll be driven to support and develop NZ's primary industry, and develop in a really exciting and developing role
  • Any exposure to union involvement and negotiations will be advantageous.  

You’ll enjoy engaging with people at all levels of a business, and thrive on enabling people to upskill and develop their capability. You’ll naturally enjoy driving the right behaviours whilst instilling a culture of performance and engagement at all levels.
