A bit about the role
With significant investment in the works for the foreseeable future, this Industrial Project Manager role forms a crucial part of the business improvement team and is responsible for engineering, planning implementation and tracking of critical business projects.
Whilst this the key project management role for the business, it requires a data-driven approach to ensure strong justification for capital expenditure through the annual budgeting process. A big focus will be to ensure analysis of capacity constraints in the manufacturing process and evidence-based feasibility in this forward-looking role.
Reporting to the Business Improvement Manager, this is a very autonomous role, which for the ideal candidate, will also involve mentoring and advising others within the team on key project management principles to lift internal capacity, whilst leading projects of varying size and scale.
A bit about you
They are seeking someone with a tertiary engineering qualification, who has at least 5 years' experience in project management. You will be the type to thrive in a multitasking role, pivoting & adapting as the needs of the business evolve.
This role would someone who has comfort to drive capital projects from $10-20m and up. You'll ideally be someone who has had involvement in building factories and managing implementation of critical plant/machinery and processes. You'll rely on LEAN methodology and your documented experience of data-driven focus to support your decision making.
You'll be familiar with managing sub-contractors, suppliers and procuring high quality, yet fairly priced materials and machinery. You will enjoy seeing your planning come to fruition through to commissioning, and you'll be comfortable managing projects to time and budget.
