Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About the job
This is a crucial leadership position that will hold a high profile in the Alcohol and other Drug (AOD) sector and presents unique responsibilities and challenges.
Reporting to the Board and leading a team of up to 40 FTE plus contractors and volunteers, the Programme Director will be responsible for leading every aspect of the organisation's strategic direction and operational management. This encompasses service functions and strategic objectives, financial management, people and culture, PR and fundraising, quality and innovation.
We are looking for a Director with EQ and integrity, who will maintain and build further on the excellent reputation this organisation holds and keep its vision and purpose at the forefront of conversations locally, regionally and nationally. You will be representing Higher Ground while connecting, engaging, strengthening and cultivating strategic relationships with the community, stakeholders and mana whenua.
Ko wai koe| About you
You will be either a CEO, COO, GM or with similar leadership expectations who brings a strong understanding of AOD and the 12-step programme with proven skills and experience leading and growing organisations, people, and services within complex and dynamic environments. Essential here is your involvement with, and understanding of the health sector - history, relationships, funding mechanisms, and the changing landscape. You’ll have a strong commercial capability, political nous, and the ability to generate enduring strategic relationships. An understanding of the Therapeutic Community model of treatment would be advantageous.
Exceptional leadership, people and communication skills are required, with the ability to think strategically and execute operationally. You’ll be a networker and relationship builder. You will be able to demonstrate a stable career to date and will have a genuine experience in programme management, ideally in addiction settings.
