People and Culture Lead

There are no two ways about it, all manufacturing plants are reliant on their people. Whether on the factory floor producing or packing quality products, maintaining plant & machinery, improving quality systems or auditing health & safety processes; every cog in the wheel must be recruited, managed appropriately, listened to, counselled, developed, paid on time and kept safe.The person we seek will be an integral part of a small, but close knit NZ Leadership Team. Leading from the front with your passion for people and culture, it is vital that not only are you comfortable with the Human Resources function, but you are flexible around supporting various shifts and can move your focus operationally when required in order to support your peers on the Leadership Team.

Key Accountabilities include:

  • The recruitment, selection and induction of permanent, temporary, casual, fixed term staff (and external contractor engagement)
  • The management of Employment documentation
  • Managing Learning and Development Programs, including compliance training
  • Employee counselling including grievance, disciplinary & termination procedures
  • Implementation of HR policies and procedures
  • Assist with HR related payroll matters
  • Remuneration reviews, benchmarking and documentation (including but not limited to the annual remuneration review process)
  • HR Reporting as required
  • Responding as required to handling any HR related queries.

Desired Skills:

  • An HR Degree (or related discipline) or equivalent industry experience
  • At least two years’ experience within an HR environment
  • In-house recruitment experience
  • A thorough understanding of current employment legislation
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and liaise with staff at levels of the business including key offshore stakeholders
  • The capacity to understand and deal with complex HR issues
  • Customer focussed and the ability to work on numerous matters and projects at once
