This beautiful, well-established centre located in Birkenhead (50 License) is looking for a friendly and enthusiastic teacher to work full time at their centre, but also would consider part time for the right candidate.
You’ll be working in the over 2’s room, which offers a calming and secure setting for children to learn and play. This great centre has great ratios and offers two separate rooms for the under 2’s and over 2’s. Following the RIE approach established by Dr Emma Pikler and supported by Magda Gerber this centre provides a safe, caring, fully supportive, multicultural environment where they demonstrate respect for each child and family.
This centre designs learning programs that allow children to thrive and grow to their full potential and recognises that every child has their own interests and needs. As a teacher you will work with each child on an individual level, ensuring their needs are met and guide them through a balance of directed activity and self discovery.
Key Skills and Requirements
- The ability to use initiative and commitment to quality practice standards and a strong understanding of the principles of Te Whāriki and RIE
- Amazing communication, organization and planning skills
- Passion for working with children and their families, and a commitment to their well-being and development
- Ability to develop creative lesson plans and activities to keep children engaged and motivated to learn
- B Ed/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE) and current teacher registration/certification
- Sound knowledge of the current ECE Regulations, Te Whāriki and hold compliance in a high regard
