This is a unique and technical role where you'll be the face of the company in NZ. In this pivotal role, you'll be at the forefront of driving profitability and fostering sustainable growth within the New Zealand steel market.
The role will be based in South Auckland, reporting into Australia, and your focus will revolve around strategic key account management, where you'll excel in identifying, developing, and skilfully negotiating to seize opportunities. This is a hands-on role, and your keen eye will pinpoint emerging possibilities and challenges, and you'll address them promptly with a customer-centric approach.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage sales revenue, margin, and performance for key accounts
- Establish and maintain key customer relationships
- Create strategies for entering new customer markets
- Foster communication between internal/external stakeholders
- Prepare and deliver tenders and proposals
- Coordinate sales strategies with the team and technical department
- Gain in-depth market understanding including customer needs and trends
- Ensure accurate forecasts for optimal raw material stock control
- Apply the Vesuvius CORE values of Courage, Ownership, Respect and Energy
The ideal Account Manager:
- Degree qualified in Materials Science or Metallurgy is essential
- Experience in steel making
- Understand the complexities around forecasting and supply chain processes related to steel and non-steel industries
- Comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience in the steel-making process
- Outstanding business developer with a track record of selling within the industry
- Proficiency in negotiating terms and conditions for key strategic accounts
- Strong sales, technical and commercial background.
- Team collaborator capable of leading and managing through objectives
- Effective communication skills, adept at comprehending customer requirements
- Positive and constructive outlook
- Exceptional problem-solving skills.
