In this key leadership role, you will be responsible for professionally leading the maintenance team on-site while working closely with the Site Leadership Team to ensure the achievement of asset management efficiency and production goals as set by the wider business.
As the Maintenance Manager, your primary purpose is to lead the maintenance team and contribute proactively to the site management team's goals of asset management efficiency and production. You will review and optimize maintenance requirements to minimize downtime and costs, ultimately increasing overall efficiency.
Reporting directly to the Senior Site Manager, you will collaborate closely with the Site Leadership Team, National Technical Manager, and National Engineering and Asset Manager to meet primary objectives.
Key Accountabilities:
- Health, Safety & Wellness: Ensure a safe and healthy working environment, comply with safety regulations, and foster a culture of safety within the team.
- Lead Maintenance Best Practice: Develop and implement best practices for predictive and preventive maintenance, creating a site Maintenance Strategy and long-term asset management plan.
- Asset Management: Train the team in the effective use of CAM (Computerized Asset Management) system, plan, prioritize, and monitor asset management, and reduce unplanned maintenance.
- Shut Planning: Plan and execute weekly and annual shutdowns efficiently, coordinating resources and monitoring timing, cost, and quality.
- Financial Control: Forecast, monitor, and control the budget, ensuring all work is carried out within allocated resources.
- Staff Management: Lead, plan, organise, and control the Engineering Team, including performance management, training, and contractor relationships.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- NZCE (or equivalent), Advanced Industrial Maintenance Trade, or Bachelor of Engineering
- 8-10 years' experience in maintenance and engineering services
- Comprehensive knowledge of Asset Management Systems, including developing asset management plans
- Strong experience in completing maintenance tasks within an industrial/manufacturing organization
- Strong ability to self-manage with a drive for continuous improvement, whilst positively influencing team and stakeholders of the benefit of driving the same focus.
- Ability to manage projects, contribute to larger projects, and strong planning ability
- Strong financial and analytical skills
- Strong customer service approach, both internal and external
This role requires hands-on involvement, including leading the team, participating in toolboxes, and setting the daily and weekly agenda. While not expected to perform daily maintenance tasks, you should show a strong interest and collaborate closely with the team to develop effective solutions.
