About the role
We are seeking a programme administrator to plan and undertake a care programme in German language for international secondary school students, incl.
* Handle the enrolment process and all correspondence associated with our programmes with New Zealand schools and our German speaking clients prior to arrival in New Zealand
* Respond to inquiries from students during their stay in NZ and provide pastoral care support when and where required, in German language
* Report to parents and respond to inquiries from parents proficiently in German language
* Communicate & liaise with schools and host families in New Zealand
* Plan and participate in introductory seminars, student activities and events
* Support with organizing international student tours during the school holidays, accompany tours from time to time
The International Student Programme Administrator will be a peoples’ person with a well-developed common sense who brings a lot of initiative, energy and “can-do” attitude to the role. You must genuinely enjoy relating to people, especially teenagers and their parents. The role requires administrative competencies, the ability to multi-task, delivering tasks and projects on time and highly developed attention to detail.
The successful candidate will work within our team of dedicated professionals in Nelson and will have the following skills and attributes:
* Excellent administration skills, 3 years work experience in a related field desirable
* Outstanding communication skills & the ability to relate easily to teenagers and adults alike
* Proficient fluency with spoken and written German to ensure accurate interpretation of and response to all client and stakeholder communications
* Ability to operate across cultures, negotiate language barriers and understand nuanced language –both verbal and written* A qualification in business, administration, tourism or in an education-based profession highly desirable
* A formal qualification and/or experience in international education, work with teenagers, event organisation, business administration or tourism
* Highly organized team player with energy, initiative and drive
* Must be able to work outside office hours and travel on weekends/ during school holidays
* Must have a valid NZ driver's license
