The Opportunity:
Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for setting the strategic direction and leadership of HSE on site, and through policy, systems, and metrics, you will track and manage our HSE risks and opportunities.This is a key, hands on role, where you will harness your talents and experience across a broad range of HSE activities. Your wealth of experience will allow you to effectively identify and communicate risk and assist the organisation to prioritise initiatives and projects to achieve strategic outcomes.As the HSE Manager, you will nurture a culture where Health and Safety is owned by all staff and champion the drive and commitment to a zero-harm environment.
About You:
We seek applications from candidates who are highly driven and results oriented. To excel in this role, you will ideally have the following experience and skills:
- Demonstrated HSE management experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment where chemical handling was required
- Possess relevant tertiary qualifications
- Experience in managing /overseeing the maintenance of various licences / accreditations including ISO14001 / 45001 / 50001
- NZISM / IOSH Post-graduate diploma in Health & Safety Management (desirable)
- Thorough knowledge of legislation and regulations
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and a collaborative management style
- Experience working with Senior Management, external agencies, and stakeholders
- Liaison with Local, Regional and National Government Bodies
