This employer is seeking a skilled Compounder/Blender to join the team at a leading personal care and detergent manufacturing company based in East Auckland. As a Compounder, you will be responsible for accurately measuring, weighing, and blending raw materials to create high-quality products. Your expertise in handling chemicals and following precise formulation instructions will play a crucial role in ensuring the production of safe and effective personal care and detergent products.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately measure and weigh raw materials according to formulation instructions.
- Blend and mix chemicals, oils, and other ingredients using appropriate equipment and tools.
- Operate batch processing equipment, such as mixers, reactors, and homogenizers.
- Monitor and adjust process variables, including temperature, pressure, and flow rates, to ensure proper product consistency and quality.
- Perform quality checks and inspections to ensure adherence to specifications and standards.
- Maintain detailed records of ingredients, batch numbers, and production processes.
- Follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment.
- Clean and sanitize equipment and work areas to prevent cross-contamination and ensure compliance with hygiene standards.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform routine maintenance tasks as needed.
- Collaborate with other team members, including production supervisors, lab technicians, and quality control personnel, to ensure smooth production operations.
- Stock inventory, storage and movement of raw materials.
Requirements:
- A good educational background; any additional technical training or certification in chemical processing is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Compounder or in a similar role within the personal care, detergent, or related manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of chemical handling, blending techniques, and formulation principles.
- Familiarity with batch processing equipment and related instrumentation.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols for handling chemicals and operating manufacturing equipment.
- Detail-oriented with excellent numerical and measurement skills.
- Ability to follow precise instructions and maintain accurate records.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
- Flexibility to work in shifts and adapt to changing production demands.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory requirements is desirable.
- A current Forklift Licence is a must
Benefits:
- You choose: Morning Shift 6.00am - 2.30pm Monday to Friday or Afternoon Shift - 2.30pm -1.00am Monday to Thursday (Fridays off!)
- Good hourly rate between $25.00 - $32.00 depending on your experience
- East Auckland location - work close to home
- Potential for Temp to Perm if you are a high performer with an excellent work ethic
