This employer has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and proactive leader to join the Business in the role of Commercial Manager. Reporting into the Managing Director the Commercial Manager will provide strategic leadership on financial and commercial matters to drive performance and growth.

The Commercial Manager’s responsibilities will include:

  • Day to day management of finance and accounts functions including staff leadership (1 FTE), preparation of monthly financial and KPI reports, treasury management, cashflow forecasting and management, annual budgeting and financial analysis to enable strategic decision making;
  • Day to day management of the operations functions including staff leadership (4 FTE), production planning, inventory and procurement management;
  • Day to day management of the HR function across the Business;
  • Partner with the sales and marketing leaders to form a senior cross-functional leadership team that keeps the business on track;
  • Attendance at and reporting to the advisory board;
  • Identifying opportunities to optimise financial performance, streamline processes, and enhance operational efficiencies; and
  • Developing and implementing robust risk management strategies

To be successful in the role you will be/have:

  • At least 5 years leadership experience in a Commercial or Senior Finance Manager role or have transferrable skills that match the requirements of the role  (experience in a manufacturing environment is desirable);
  • A proven track record of creating, leading, motivating and developing high performance teams to achieve desired outcomes;
  • Strong commercial acumen;
  • Extensive experience in financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and planning;
  • Experience in management of HR and operations functions;
  • Experience and understanding of risk management, compliance, and regulatory matters;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels;
  • Proficient in using business software and tools; and
  • Tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, economics or management (desirable).

Key to your success in this role will be your results driven focus, strong commercial acumen, and proven track record of success in commercial management. You will be able to lead with confidence and self-awareness, not settling for status quo and enjoy a challenge. This role would suit an ambitious professional on a trajectory towards general management. A passion for the outdoors and/or physical fitness would be a plus.
