About our Client

As an experienced Agile, PRINCE 2 and ITIL-accredited digital project manager I have successfully collaborated on public and private sector projects in areas such as Compliance, Audit/Risk, Operations, Process Improvement (including ICT Business Requirements), Procurement, Contract Management, and Policy Development and Delivery. I have team management and budget management experience, with key skills in risks/issues resolution and improving internal and external stakeholder relations.


  • Stabilised our BetaDen Technology Accelerator team, doubled our delivery rate and led us to win a national award (UK Business Tech Awards, Best Technology Accelerator). We are current finalists for 2 more national awards.
  • Delivered 96% outturn against £1.2mil budget, having joined the team mid-programme (EU funding) and behind spend profile due to Covid-19
  • Delivered a delayed 6-month Business Advice programme within 12 weeks, including audit sign-off, and achieving an above-national-average customer satisfaction rating.

Professional Experience

Senior Programme Manager  

  • Delivered £1.2 mil ERDF-funded award-winning BetaDen Technology Acceleratorprogramme and am now leading the team through structural changes
  • Doubled delivery rate, leading to our first national award in October 2022
  • Currently preparing BetaDen for the move to commercial entity whilst simultaneously delivering the programme using new national funding streams
  • Manage the in-house BetaDen team, County Council service providers, multiple contractors, and the relationship with funding partners

Project Manager

  • Managed 4 contractors to deliver a £150k pilot programme of business support within a 12-week timeframe, beating all time, cost and quality requirements
  • Managed procurement of the FY2021-22 full programme delivery, incorporating Lessons Learnt from the pilot to reduce delivery risk and improve the financial controls process
  • Reviewed payment processes and created process flow diagrams ready to train new members of staff expected to join for the full programme
  • Line managed and trained the Project Support Officer in areas including procurement, MI, contract management and Time and Motion studies to plan workload across the delivery period, feeding back potential CRM system improvements to the funding government department (BEIS)

Senior Adviser and Project Manager  

  • Managed delivery of multiple changes to operational processes and guidance, improving compliance with scheme regulations, saving customers significant financial penalties
  • Explained complex rules and regulations in simple terms to colleagues
  • Senior point of escalation for compliance queries from all national Operations and local Area Teams for c. £600million per annum of agri-environment schemes.
  • Managed Internal Audit programme across 7 Agri-Environment schemes
  • Captured and presented data to the European Union audit team that saved the UK taxpayer£millions each year in ‘Disallowance’ fines
  • Significantly improved working relationship with key external stakeholders, increasing trust and reducing ‘double-handling’ of issues
  • Managed KPIs and production of the annual report on the £600 mil annual spend
  • Provided functional line management to 5 junior team members

Project Manager

  • Took a secondment as project manager into the team providing business requirements for a highly complex new IT system to manage agri-environment scheme agreements from application stage through to payments and compliance monitoring.
  • Improved the compliance elements of User Stories, speeding up approvals and delivery of IT capabilities.
  • Provided leadership on resolution of risks and issues, successfully removing ‘blockers’ and providing contingency processes which allowed £millions in payments to be released to customers in an audit-friendly way
  • Brought together tactical teams to work through issues, then provided risk-assessed and costed business cases for change, allowing senior managers to make evidence-based decisions.
