Transmission Line Mechanic

An opportunity has arisen for Transmission Line Mechanic to join our busy team at Wellington.

We partner with leading Electrical asset providers to deliver maintenance and construction works on Transmission lines.  You will be working with a small dynamic and dedicated group of Lineman with diverse skills.

To be successful in this role, you will also need to have good communication skills, be flexible towards work hours and location, and be a team player keen on producing quality work for our valuable clients.  

This is a full-time, permanent role at minimum 40 hours a week, 7am – 3.30pm
$35 per/hour - $38 per/hour (Circa) rate is dependent on experience


Key Deliverables:    

In this role you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of live/de-energised conductors, hardware, and structures used in the National Transmission Grid, including as required the erection, repair, and/or dismantling of assets. You will follow work to all and HSE procedures as well as statutory requirements.

About you - Required Skills and Competencies

•    Level 4 Transmission is advantageous.
•    Testing and Electrical Safety
•    First Aid and CPR
•    Current EWRB
•    Valid driver’s license and experience driving appropriate vehicles on all roads, terrain, and weather conditions; Heavy truck license preferred
•    Excellent attitude to SHEQ.
•    Physically fit especially with regards to heavy lifting, stretching, and climbing.
•    Comfortability with working at heights
