Technical Product Owner

This role is not your average product owner role as your customers are likely to be other Trade Me technologists and the products you will be working with are technology platforms and services that these technologists use.

Here’s what you can expect from the role:

* Align product outcomes with the Trade Me and Technology vision and strategy

* Ensure platforms have and deliver to a strategy aligned value-driving product roadmap

* Create, refine and maintain a robust, adequately resourced Epic backlog and plan that achieves a healthy balance of delivery and discovery across different types of work

* Champion the work and the Product

* Be a strong customer advocate

* Keep everyone informed and aligned

* Adhere to agile principles

* Bring the right people into the conversation when the squad needs help

What you will bring to our team:

* 5+ years of experience of product ownership working in software development teams

*A proven track record of successfully developing flexible value driven product roadmaps to clarify where we are going, taking ownership of outcomes and delivering measurable results

*Experience with opportunity definition and discovery, opportunity trees, goal-oriented product roadmaps and using outcome based metrics to measure the impact of change.

*Experience working in a technical role within product driven software development teams within a complex and fast paced environment

*Excellent at building relationships and an outstanding communicator

*Highly organised and result oriented with strong planning and facilitation skills

*Experienced in leading technical teams within an agile environment with an excellent understanding of agile ways of working & engineering practices

*Confident using collaborative tools to clarify work scope, sizing, trade offs, dependencies and other planning considerations (eg Miro, LucidChart, Jira)

*Technology knowledge of the platforms we are reliant on to deliver customer value (eg data platforms, search platforms, web & mobile technologies or build processes including CI/CD pipelines) preferred.
