About the job
- As a Registered Nurse working on the wards you'll be using your clinical expertise and compassion to care for patients and advocate for their needs.
- There is a real variety of nursing care here. Whilst they are not an acute service and all surgery is booked in, it isn't without clinical complexity or patients without comorbidities.
- You will nurse patients with haemorrhoids through to those that have had major neurosurgery. You'll be familiar with chest drains, epidurals, PCA's, cardiac monitoring etc..
- There is an ICU onsite.
- Work shifts on a 7 day rostered and rotating basis, mainly AM (7:00-15:30) and PM (14:30-23:00). While there are permanent night nurses, you may be required to work night shifts on occasion to fill shortages.
About you
- Registered Nurse with a current APC.
- Strong clinical skills - you'll have at least 3 years of surgical ward experience, ideally with cardiothoracic, orthopaedic and general surgery experience.
- Strong customer focus, committed to improvement initiatives and your own professional development.
- Professional and eager to earn.
- An excellent communicator with brilliant listening skills.
- Calm and confident, accountable and resilient.
- A team player who interacts well with others.
