The Role
The role offers close collaboration with senior engineers, exposure to technically challenging work, and ongoing support from experienced project managers.Key Responsibilities:
- Engineering design of structural and non‑structural elements including building services, ceilings, and partitions
- Producing detailed hand sketches to support CAD draughting workflows
- Coordinating drawings and performing draughting checks
- Ensuring design outputs meet internal standards and quality expectations
- Conducting site visits, assessments, and inspections
- Liaising with clients and providing clear responses to technical queries
About You
- Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical or Civil) or Bachelor of Engineering Technology
- Minimum 1 year post‑graduate engineering design experience
- Experience with seismic bracing design of non‑structural elements is advantageous
- Strong understanding of relevant NZ Standards and commitment to staying current
- Ability to work collaboratively and adopt established in‑house design methodologies
- Client‑focused, adaptable, and strong problem‑solver
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
