The Role
- Mentor and coach junior members of the team.
- Advocate automation across teams and disciplines.
- Find and address challenges with our processes and practices.
- Find opportunities to apply new, innovative technologies to solve our current business problems.
- Perform and document context-driven testing activities across all relevant platforms.
- Create and maintain suitable automated checks in accordance with the test strategy.
- Participate fully in agile delivery processes; leading the analysis, design and development.
- Manage the deployment of cases to production, and support resolution of incidents.
- Identify and resolve production bugs through the triage process.
- Contribute, through knowledge sharing, peer review and mentoring to the capability of the test guild.
- Advocate and facilitate increasing ownership of quality amongst the whole squad.
- Regularly communicate with the squad and wider stakeholders about the progress, risks and overall quality of the products.
- Help engineers with their test planning and execution.
- Monitor production environments and triage possible bugs or anomalies.
- Audit test automation suite coverage and state, and implement corrective actions upon drift.
- Test and audit applications’ security and performance to make sure they are aligned with our standards
About You
- 5+ years’ experience in similar roles, ideally with a mixed background of exploratory and automation testing.
- Ability to automate processes using Bash, Python, or similar tools.
- Experience with Agile software development methodologies preferred, but not required.
- Experience working across different layers of the technology stack.
- Experience applying context-driven testing approaches would be ideal.
- Experience in API, UI/ mobile automation.
- Experience in using monitoring tools like Splunk and New Relic.
- Ability to wrangle data using SQL.
- A good team player and trusted advisor, able to provide support and advice to others with a positive attitude and a willingness to collaborate.
- Organised and comfortable with self-directed work; adaptable and can cope with change in a fast-moving environment.
- An eye for detail; willing to work through the little things to make our web experience faster, more reliable, and easier to maintain.
- Propensity for personal motivation, initiative, adaptability and the willingness to face challenges head-on.
