About this role:
This organisation is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor who will report to the current Commercial Manager. In this role, you would be a Lead QS taking financial responsibility for projects between $2M - $30M and as well as being positioned to take over progressively commercial management responsibilities
The role will cover:
- STender estimates and review and letting contracts
- Meeting with sub-contractors
- Project protocol set up
- Cost management and monitoring of projects
- Bid management
- Variation management
- Sub contractor negotiations and management
- Final reporting
- Project Management of smaller jobs
- Project reviews
- Mentoring and supporting Intermediate or junior QS’s
- Being a client facing QS representing clients
About you:
- Commercial construction QS experience of at least 10+ years from a main contractor across a range of projects $2M - $30M
- Experience as the sole QS on projects.
- Excellent cost management skills and commercial acumen with proven results in increasing profitability on projects.
- Strong understanding of NZS3910 and SA2017 subcontracts.
- Strong experience with systems including Procore, Jobpac, Costx, ProcurePro.
- Work well within a team environment and thrive on the pressure that construction projects bring.
- Tertiary qualified with a quantity surveying major ideally.
The role has a great opportunity to move towards a Commercial Manager role within the next year due to future internal movements, so possessing drive and natural communication flair would be a given.
