Our essential service client is NZ's leading brand in their field. Their work in the civil, environmental and utilities space continues to go from strength to strength, and they are now seeking a key addition to their Project Engineering team.
Working as the Senior Project Engineer, you will provide technical and operational direction to overall strategy, site development and rehabilitation across key sites within our client's infrastructure. You'll also ideally have 10+ years of civil, construction or environmental engineering experience and some exposure to the solid waste industry (though this aspect is not critical).
In such a role its important to have a genuine interest in sustainability and safeguarding NZ's clean and green image through sustainable management of our valuable resources, and this is where your work comes in.
Reporting to the National Technical Manager, you will oversee contract management and safe delivery of capital work projects from concept through to design and commissioning at this national business's key sites across greater Auckland.
You'll be managing civil construction for bulk earthworks, layer works, roading, reinforced concrete structures and complex liner systems. You'll be required to drive final engineered cap construction for closure, manage construction audits, preparation air quality reporting, key infrastructure development modelling, along with contract, tender and sub-contractor management.
About you
- We are seeking someone with a tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, and a strong H&S mindset
- A natural leader in engineering you will be familiar with leading key capital projects, strategic planning and bringing others in your team with you on the project's journey
- Ideally you will have prior experience (10+ years) in civil, construction or environmental engineering
- You'll have demonstrable exposure to project management fundamentals including costings, design, and excellent time management
- You'll have excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- You'll have extensive use of AutoCAD or similar engineering software, and strong comfort on the MS Office suite of products.
The Package
Depending on your experience, we have a midpoint for this role at around $135,000 annual salary on offer plus a TOT vehicle.
