Mō te tūnga | About the role/s
We are seeking both Senior Procurement, and Procurement Advisors and are offering a mix of permanent and fixed term roles.
As a Senior/Procurement Adviser, you'll provide specialist procurement advice, and assistance across the Department. The team is close knit, recognises each other's strengths and achieves great results together. The Partnering for Outcomes team manages social procurement for a range of services required to ensure the smooth running of our estate, including both the community, and the prison network.
You will take a people-centric view to procurement and use your knowledge of the Social Sector Commissioning Action Plan, and the Government Procurement Principles to show a progressive approach to your procurement discussions. This role is busy and varied with accountabilities that include:
- Managing relationships with all our business partners, both within the National Office environment and our Regional Office colleagues
- Working closely with our partners and suppliers including Maori and Iwi, bringing critical thinking to better understand and meet needs to deliver results that work for everyone
- Ensure that appropriate approaches to all procurement and commissioning activities are applied and implemented.
- Leading the end-to-end commissioning and procurement activities
- Mentoring and providing advice to team members.
Ngā pūkenga e kimi ana mātou | What you will bring to the role
- A background in Government procurement rules and processes and a solid understanding of the practical application of current best practice
- A good understanding of the Social Sector Commissioning Action Plan 2022 - 2028
- The ability to build strong relationships with a range of people and a desire for your mahi to make a real difference
- A minimum of three years' experience in a social procurement role (senior role), and an eye for detail to ensure that documents supporting our procurement initiatives pass the closest of scrutiny.
