As a Senior Governance Advisor, you will be comfortable acting as trusted advisor to the Chief Executive, senior leadership team, the Board, and Te Puna (this employers Māori Advisory Group). Providing governance support you will oversee all official correspondence, including mentoring the Governance Advisor to support them to coordinate and manage the processes required. You will provide support to the Board and Te Puna, including supporting meetings, drafting Aide Memoire for the Chairs of the Board and Te Puna, and supporting them directly as required. Working in a critical role, you will collate regular operational reporting to the Minister, work closely with their monitoring agency (DIA) and prepare draft briefings for the Minister when required.
You will:
- Lead the development of operational policy and policy reviews relating to governance and official correspondence
- Work with the Board and Te Puna chairs to implement and ensure the best practice in governance and ministerial services, including regular Board and Te Puna self-assessments
- Mentor and coach junior kaimahi | employees within the Governance tīma | team
Ko koe tēnei | About you
They are looking for someone who has:
- Experience and strong capability with Official Information Act requests and Ministerial Services - essential
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including formal correspondence
- Experience advising senior leaders
- Able to maintain strong attention to detail even when working under pressure
- Ability to work with ambiguity and complexity
