Production Manager

This role will suit a wide variety of candidates from team leaders who are looking for career advancement or a management role through to existing production managers who want to move from a corporate environment to be part of a small dynamic management team working directly with the Managing Director / owner.

The role

As the Production Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day activities of the factory and production team.

You will work closely with the Managing Director, helping to determine the strategy and direction of the production side of the business. The business is entering a period of change and growth so the production team leader will help implement Lean manufacturing principles along with a significant upgrade project.

The Production Manager will collaborate with the R&D Technical Manager on project resourcing; production planning and providing the right technical resources to deliver on the product development pipeline. This role will provide technical expertise to collaboratively solve problems and providing proactive information and knowledge to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and meet expectations.

What you will need

In order to be effective in the position, the Production Manager shall have and be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

• Extensive experience with proven capability in Manufacturing, Fabrication or Extrusion; evidenced by at least 4 years’ experience of successfully working in this technical discipline both in a hands-on production role and in senior or team leader capacity.
• Proven capability successfully coaching and educating others in a Manufacturing, Fabrication or Extrusion context; evidenced by testimonials or references in support.
• Experience and proven capability effectively collaborating with Engineering Managers and project engineers – as a production team member or leader – and working together to deliver projects on time, one budget and to specification.
