Production & Maintenance Engineer

Support the Production Manager to deliver effective multi site productivity in this food & supplement manufacturing operation.

Join a dynamic and forward-thinking food & supplement production company dedicated to providing top-notch products to its valued customers, across the world. The chosen candidate will mainly operate within a fully operational plant with a rich history, staying abreast of technological advancements to ensure seamless production aligned with customer demand and the company’s efficiency objectives. The business has plans to open a second Auckland based facility in 2024, which will also form part of this role.

A bit about the role

  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on production machinery to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Respond to plant breakdowns during production and as coordinated with the Factory Manager.
  • Schedule and carry out planned maintenance on plant and equipment.
  • Source and maintain spare parts and consumables for equipment.
  • Implement new automated equipment on-site.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a hygienic and safe working environment.

A bit about you

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer in a food or nutrition related production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food processing equipment, packaging machinery, and utility systems.
  • Proficiency in the maintenance and operation of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and steam equipment and systems.
  • Experience with maintaining computerised and automated control systems.
  • Experience with machining, such as welding, fitting, turning, and milling.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
