Whilst this is an engineering role specialising in mechanical, given the recent weather events, this role requires someone with flexibility to muck in to assist the wider team as they work towards business as usual.

A bit about the role

‍They are excited to be on the search for an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to join their Hawkes Bay operation providing support and working collaboratively with the wider technical engineering team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the leadership of the Mechanical Trade Team and its contractors, including personnel management, mechanical maintenance planning, administration and supervision of mechanical maintenance and repair activities.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role requires a focus on maintaining and continuously improving plant performance and labour productivity by coordinating mechanical work and resources accordingly, whilst ensuring high standards of safety, work quality, analysis, documentation and reporting.

You may be a career mechanical engineer and natural leader seeking a role where you can impart your knowledge and skills to a hard working team, or you may already be comfortable leading mechanical engineering teams and tradespeople. • A relevant Level 5 Trade Certification or equivalent
• 5+ years heavy industrial / manufacturing industry experience
• Proven people management and leadership skills
• CMMS/SAP experience
• Improvement driven with problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
