Whilst this is an engineering role specialising in mechanical, given the recent weather events, this role requires someone with flexibility to muck in to assist the wider team as they work towards business as usual.

A bit about the role

We are excited to be on the search for an experienced heavy industrial Mechanical Engineer to join our clients Hawkes Bay operation providing support to the wider technical engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for design, procurement and implementation of a wide range of engineering projects and maintenance activities providing after-hours management support and attending callouts if required.



Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role requires a focus on project management oversight and quality and technical support for capital and major maintenance works, including analysis of equipment performance and reliability of the plant, providing the successful candidate with a well rounded technical and operational understanding of the process, systems and business needs.

A bit about you‍

• Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering
• 3 years heavy industrial mechanical or manufacturing industry experience
• Improvement driven with problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
