The work will entail working with a small team in a design office producing drawings for construction of aluminium commercial and recreational vessels.
Your job will be to develop 3D structural models of vessel hulls and superstructures, and to create 2D drawings for construction of the vessels
Work will include:
- Structural detailing of hulls and superstructures
- 3D modeling
- General construction drawings
- Creating and nesting of CNC files
- Mechanical systems installation drawings
- Piping system drawings
- General arrangement drawings
- Presentation renderings
- Interior fit-out drawings
Experience/ Qualifications:
- Minimum required drafting experience is 3 years
- Experience with working on aluminium constructed vessels is essential
- Candidate must be experienced and proficient in AutoCAD (2D) and Rhino (3D)
- Experience in Shipconstructor software will be highly beneficial
- Naval Architect or Marine Designer qualification is not required, but could be beneficial
Conditions of Employment:
• The offer will be full time for the duration of the employment period
• Normal working hours are 42.5 hrs per 5-day week
• Annual salary will be between NZ$75,000 and NZ$85,000 depending on experience and capabilities of the employee
Work place:
Our office is at Pine Harbour Marina, Beachlands, Auckland. We are supported by a daily commuter ferry service from Auckland CBD, therefore living in East Auckland is not essential.
