About the role

Reporting to the Technical and Innovation Manager, you will be skilled in team leadership, safety management, process optimization, and continuous improvement, all of which are vital to the organization's success.
You will:
- Oversee all aspects of daily laboratory operations to ensure timely and accurate testing.
- Lead, coach & develop the lab team, fostering continuous improvement.
- Work towards implementing a Laboratory Management System aligned with ISO17025.
- Maintain a strong safety culture within the laboratory.
- Lead method development for new assays, validate and accreditation of methods.
- Work across 2 laboratories: Mt Maunganui & Timaru labs (quarterly visits to Timaru).
- Maintain high standards of compliance and accuracy.
Skills & Experience
- Tertiary qualification in Chemistry or related discipline.
- Proven success in implementing ISO17025 standards is desirable.
- Experience with integrated laboratory and ERP/LIMS systems.
- Experience in method development, validation, and implementation.
- Knowledge of calibrations and report writing skills desired.
