Eastland Generation is a growing renewable energy business with three geothermal power stations in Kawerau as well as a hydroelectric station in Wairoa. We are owned by Eastland Group, a major infrastructure company headquartered in Gisborne.
With an eye to future growth, we are looking for experienced, enthusiastic and conscientious people to join our highly skilled and motivated operations team.
You'll be part of a small team of operators, responsible for getting the best out of our stations. Our stations are major hazard facilities, so you will not compromise on the highest levels of personnel and plant safety.
In this role, you'll be primarily responsible for control room activities, routine maintenance and fault finding, carrying out inspections, managing permit-to-work systems and contractors, as well as keeping our asset management systems up to date. You'll also provide input into a wide range of plant maintenance, operational procedures, planning and change activities.
To be successful in this role you will have a number of years of control room experience, preferably in electricity generation or complex process plants, an Electrical or Mechanical Trade qualification and possibly hold an EnChem qualification too.
You will have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, be able to relate well to a wide range of people and hold an unwavering approach to safety. A mixture of skills and exposure are highly valued as are qualifications and experience with safety management and work control systems. You will hold a valid clean New Zealand driver's licence.
The role requires rostered day shift work and the ability to work after-hours when required.
