ABOUT THE ROLE 
As the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the technical and engineering activities of the Electricity and Gas (E&G)  Northern business 
You will plan engineering projects and oversee the efficient running of these projects including providing supervision and guidance to other engineers.
Responsibilities
- Research and develop designs and products that pertain to our clients works.
- Lead development projects that produce modern designs, products, and processes.
- Check the team’s work for technical accuracy.
- Coordinate work with other managers and staff
- Work with tendering staff and Operations teams to provide optimal solutions for submission.
ABOUT YOU
You will need to have proven work experience as an Engineering Manager or similar role. You will need to have analytical skills for evaluating information carefully and solving complex problems.
Strong Communication skills are a must and technical & supervisory experience are key.
Other skills, characteristics, and experience
- Detail-oriented with the ability to catch minor errors which can result in major problems.
- Math skills, and other advanced mathematics.
- Required distribution substation knowledge.
To be successful in this role, you should have exceptional foresight, effective communication skills, working knowledge of different engineering disciplines and how they relate to one another, and an aptitude for managing risk. Ideally, candidates will have on for the complex nature of the electrical industry.
