Electrical Maintenance Technician


About the job

Are you an EWRB registered Electrician, Engineer or EST, but also have good hands on maintenance experience?

Our Access and Security element of the business is booming - so if you have experience of installing, repairing and maintaining automated gates and barriers, or a fast learner and confident that you can, then this is for you.

Our business is quite diverse and we have other areas that you will also be involved in as the company as a whole is busy, but we still find time to socialise and have a laugh!

Key responsibilities include:

  • Liaising with Clients
  • Site surveys to spec ducting and foundation and gate design requirements
  • Installation, service and maintenance of Automatic Gates and Barriers and safety accessories such as inground inductive loops, safety beams/curtains and radar sensors.
  • Reactive Fault finding, recommendations and repairs
  • Preparation of H&S documentation & Inductions relative to requirements
  • Rostered after hours support and occasional out of town required

Required attributes and qualifications

  • Minimum of an EWRB EST license
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Great communication skills
  • Enjoy getting your hands dirty onsite
  • Quality, H&S Focused
  • A Team player, willing to contribute to a multicultural team
  • Able to share after hours roster with others
  • Legally allowed to work in NZ
  • A full NZ driving license
  • Able to travel within NZ (occasionally, short duration)
  • Experience with Access Control / Gate Automation or similar industry
  • Electrical and Mechanical installation / analysis and problem solving
  • Understanding of schematics / PLC’s etc
  • We are willing to support UK Certified Electricians to become EWRB registered
