ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role, you will be working with a small team of dedicated and highly-skilled staff, working in a high-voltage substation environment. The work is varied, and will range from maintenance, installation and commissioning transformers, circuit breakers, voltage transformers, current transformers, protection relays, battery banks and LV electrical work.
Their depot is based in Islington but the jobs will take place at various locations within the Canterbury region.
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Experience in the High Voltage electrical industry will be preferred
- Commercial and Industrial electricians will be considered
- Certified electrician with NZ registration or eligible to gain registration
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Must possess a valid full Class 1 driver's licence
- Be prepared to work overtime - 40 hours per week + over time rates
- Demonstrate high levels of understanding of and adherence to the Health and Safety practices and regulations of the High Voltage Industry
- Be physically fit especially with regards to heavy lifting and stretching (free of back problems)
- Possess a ‘can-do’ attitude
- Have a willingness to learn
