This employer is a family owned and operated coal mining company based on the West Coast. They operate opencast mining operations at Giles Creek near Reefton and Strongman near Greymouth, along with coal handling and loadout facilities in a number of locations on the West Coast and Canterbury.
Their team of mechanics look after a large fleet of a wide range of plant including fixed and mobile plant allows their mechanics to work on a diverse fleet and build skills in a range of disciplines.
They are an accredited employer with the ability to support employee relocations.
Ideal candidate will have:
- Ability to work to a high standard with minimal supervision.
- Strong diagnosis and fault-finding ability.
- Tidy bookwork skills
- Work well in collaboration with their maintenance team
- Knowledge of diesel engine components and operational mechanisms
- Experience with diagnostic and scan tools
- Respect for onsite health and safety rules
- Experience in performing services, tracking and managing repairs, diagnosing faults.
- Ability to schedule maintenance into a demanding production schedule
- Time management skills and the ability to prioritize urgent jobs.
- Valid driver’s licence
