The Role
You’ll join a product-focused engineering team where the data layer is central to how everything works. There’s meaningful volume, real performance considerations, and a steady stream of new requirements as the platform evolves. The expectation isn’t just that things run: it’s that they run well.You’ll work closely with developers and platform engineers to make sure data is reliable, performant, and structured in a way that supports both product features and reporting needs.
What you’ll be doing
- Optimising SQL databases running under real production load
- Designing and maintaining data transformation processes
- Supporting structured storage solutions and data lake environments
- Building and maintaining stored procedures and database objects
- Working with Azure Data Factory, Snowflake, Event Hubs, Azure Functions, and Power BI
- Maintaining cloud environments across Azure and AWS
- Contributing to testing, release, and production support
- Documenting what you build and improving how data is handled across the system
About You
- 5+ years of commercial experience in data-focused development or DBA roles
- Strong SQL skills, including performance tuning and optimisation
- Experience with modern database technologies and ORM/MicroORM tooling
- Exposure to Azure or AWS cloud environments
- Experience working with high-throughput or large-volume datasets
- Solid understanding of testing practices and development standards
- Comfortable collaborating with product and engineering teams
