About the Service

MoH funded, this new community collective in conjunction with 5 other Māori Providers (and well supported by inter sectorial partners) is responsible for delivering services to up to 20,000 whānau across the rohe. Open access centres are located in Wairoa, Maraenui/Ahuriri, Flaxmere and Central Hawke’s Bay. They are designed to support equity of access, experience, and outcomes for whānau. Whānau-led, integrated, innovative, digitally enabled and results focussed, the desire is that all whānau who use these services will be ‘better off’ across multiple domains: health and oranga, social and cultural.

About the Job

  • Will include mobile nursing across homes and the CHB community.
  • Working Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.00pm with a close knit and passionate team
  • Nurse led clinics, operate under standing orders
  • Practice nursing responsibilities including family planning, sexual health and contraception, wound care, immunisations, CVD risk assessments and cervical screening. Support to services contract for mammograms.
  • Holistic nursing care - assess, triage, refer, support and deliver services

About you

This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with current APC and community, primary care / practice nursing experience. In addition:

  • You’ll be passionate about reaching Māori and rural communities.
  • Keen to and comfortable working in a Kaupapa Māori organisation
  • Non judgemental with a passion for equity
  • A wonderful communicator – able to develop trust and relationships with a holistic / whānau focus
  • Agile, adaptable and flexible with a can do attitude. You’ll find that no two days are the same. You’ll need to be able to quickly move to where the need is greatest.
  • Full Driver’s License
