Business Development Manager

The Role

  • Hunt for new business opportunities across the North Island
  • Proactively generate leads through cold calling, site visits, and networking
  • Run consultative sales conversations and turn problems into solutions
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline and consistently convert opportunities
  • Plan, forecast, and report on sales performance and activity
  • Support the development of sales campaigns and growth initiatives
  • Respond to enquiries promptly and professionally
  • Partner with internal teams to scope situations and deliver strong customer outcomes
  • Manage key relationships while keeping the focus on new business growth
  • General admin and CRM upkeep to keep your pipeline clean and moving

About You

  • Proven BDM “hunter” experience (you can show you’ve won new accounts)
  • Background in painting or a related sector (building, maintenance, construction)
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to pitch and influence
  • Excellent organisation, commercial acumen, and pipeline discipline
  • Ability to explain technical concepts in plain language
  • Strong relationship skills (externally and internally)
  • Confident with MS Office (and ideally CRM systems)
