Account Manager/Business Development

We are proud to be working with NZ's market leaders in Civil/Infrastructure where we are seeking a person to manage predominantly Christchurch and some South Island relationships with Engineering Consultants, Councils and Contractors to specify best possible engineering solutions.

Key to your success will be your ability to scope your South Island Territory, identifying projects related to the sector and target the relevant stakeholders through the project lifecycle.


About the role - Responsibilities

  • Implement a successful call plan maximising revenue and regular contact with customers
  • Be the central point of contact for customers involved in design & installation of domestic & commercial projects
  • Build & maintain strong relationships with key customers, influencers & specifiers
  • Manage the sales pipeline & fully utilise CRM processes for opportunities.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to 'make their mark' in this privately owned, proud Kiwi company, well-suited to someone who can talk the engineering lingo working with Engineering Consultants, Councils and Construction clients, from conceptual stage and the ability to understand practical challenges that may arise, whilst ensuring the design and application of the solution meets the highest standards.


About you


You may be a Project Engineer, Sales Engineer, or Site Manager, from this or a related sector, where you are seeking a fresh challenge.  Or, if you don't have an aligned Degree, you have Engineering, Sales Engineering or practical experience in Civil, Pipeline & groundworks and you have the ability to clearly communicate solutions and problem solve.

We are seeking a person who has had previous Council, Engineering Consultant and Civil Contractor experience.  


Key Requirements:

  • Ideally an appropriate Civil Engineering qualification or related Degree, or if not, proven industry experience.
  • Strong understanding of engineered solutions and commercial acumen
  • Excellent technical knowledge and expertise with systems, component products, construction methods and applications associated with the industry
  • Experience in technical products and demonstrable results driven success.
