Minnesota Office of the Legislative Auditor August 2021 – Present
• Develop research plans by identifying key questions and methods to evaluate and improve public programmes impacting Minnesotans
• Assess programme effectiveness and areas for improvement by interviewing programme administrators and participants; reviewing documents, policies, and laws; and analysing data and administering surveys
• Reviewed 10 years of laws and financial data to develop an inventory of 33 programmes that awarded more than $280 million in grants to nearly 700 entities to support roughly 20 percent of Minnesotans based on racial, ethnic, or American Indian identity
• Analysed 1,340 employer audits to find 22 percent misclassified at least one worker and rates of industry misclassification increased over 13 years, contributing to legislation directing agencies to collaborate when addressing misclassification and strengthening penalties
• Prepared and administered surveys to over 2,000 state employees to assess experiences with human resources and perceptions of retaliation
• Wrote, edited, and ensured the accuracy of five public reports that included 44 recommendations to improve the effectiveness of programmes
Wisconsin Legislative Audit Bureau June 2019 – August 2021
• Objectively analysed programme information to measure performance and develop recommendations for state agencies and the Legislature related to oversight of child care grants, administration of unemployment insurance, school safety, and technology needs
• Assessed seven informational technology projects costing nearly $26 million across five higher education institutions to evaluate project selection, procurement, and adherence to security best practices
• Wrote and edited roughly 70 internal summaries and three public reports to communicate research findings and recommendations
• Trained and consulted a team of 15 colleagues on data and document analysis tools

• Researched nine case studies for the Board of Directors and internal leadership to inform strategic planning
