World of Wearable Arts
The World of Wearable Arts, also known as WOW, began as a promotion for a rural art gallery in Nelson, in 1987. Today it is an internationally renowed show. WOW is a montage of theatre, art, dance, colour and movement it is a theatrical spectacular. This is a one of a kind show that promotes New Zealands culture and creativity. The show is broadcasted internationally and many tourists come to New Zealand especially to see the show.
Wild foods Festival
This is without a doubt a very unique food festival! Up to 11,000 people can descend on Hokitika for a weekend of fun and food. Tempt your tastebuds and challenge yourself. Each year a new range of exciting foods are up on offer including worm truffles, live huhu grubs and possum pie. But don't be frigtened there are some standard fare items as well including lamb, steak and of course whitebait! Entertainment is as good as it gets with multiple stages and there’s roving entertainment all day long. 2014 marks this festivals 25th year!

The IRB Rugby World Cup (RWC) is one of the largest sporting events in the world. Held every four years, the tournament was hosted in New Zealand in 2011. New Zealand fulfilled its promise to be a 'stadium of four million' for the Rugby World Cup 2011 welcoming a staggering 133,200 international rugby fans.
