About the organisation

  • Innovative, state of the art, private surgical hospital located in central Christchurch.
  • This is New Zealand's first carbon zero hospital! environmentally-friendly building, compostable medicine trays, energy-saving lighting systems, solar hot-water heating panels, waste reduction initiatives, etc….
  • Designed for day stay and short stay procedures (max 1 -2 nights) there are no big open cases but lots of arthroscopic and laparoscopic surgeries are performed here.
  • They offer four fully-equipped operating theatres, a 12-bed recovery area, 22 overnight suites and two day lounges.
  • In expansion mode - new building and additional theatres are coming
  • Multiple specialties including elective orthopaedic, gynaecology, ORL, urology, maxillofacial, plastics and general surgical procedures

About the job

  • As a Registered Nurse working in Theatre you will be scrubbing or circulating for surgeries and ultimately providing safe, efficient and quality patient centred care.
  • Family friendly shifts (morning, afternoon and day lists between 7am to 8pm, no nights, no on call and Monday to Friday. Saturday work is exceptionally rare and if required confirmed by arrangement.

About you

  • Registered Nurse with a current APC.
  • Strong customer focus, committed to improvement initiatives and your own professional development.
  • They require experience across all specialties - orthopaedic, gynaecology, urology, ENT, plastics and general. You will have arthroscopic and laparoscopic experience and enjoy the idea of working in a fast paced low acuity hospital.
