Our Cloud Infrastructure Team keeps the company's core platforms online, available and performant so that Kiwis have uninterrupted experiences on the site. As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you'll be part of a team ensuring our internal and customer-facing systems have appropriate levels of reliability and uptime and take joint responsibility for building and maintaining large scale, distributed fault-tolerant systems.
Here's a bit about what you can expect in this role:
- We're completing our journey of migrating our in-house infrastructure into Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and you will maintain services once they are 'live' by measuring, monitoring and analysing availability and reliability
- Modern cloud tooling and opportunity to contribute to increasing Trade me cloud capability
- Use Agile/Scrum to deliver, and continuously improve how we work
- Have a security automation mindset, building security into everything we do, at all stages along the build and release pipeline
- Identify problems and resolve them in a timely manner, while also identifying opportunities for automating away / mitigating problems in the future
- Be part of our on-call roster once you're settled into the role
So far so good? What we're looking for from you is:
- Demonstrable experience as an infrastructure engineer/cloud engineer / DevOps engineer designing and supporting highly available, large web systems
- Demonstrable experience in managing and transitioning to public cloud web platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.) preferably in Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Experience with containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, EKS, etc.)
- Networking Skills: VPCs, Security Groups, DNS, DHCP, IP, Firewall, Switching, Routing, Load-Balancing, etc.
- Able to build successful mentoring relationships within the team and the wider organisation
- Able to obtain an 'Associate Cloud Engineer' Google Cloud certification
