Dr. Carsten Hallwass holds a full licence to operate as a Licenced Immigration Adviser under the Immigration Advisers Licensing Act 2007. He is an Associate Member of the New Zealand Law Society as well as a full member of the Hanseatic Law Society of Bremen, Germany.
Carsten specialises in business and investor migration. Since his arrival in New Zealand in 1994 he has assisted clients from all over the world with applying for their visas under Business and Investor policies and successfully establishing their businesses in New Zealand.
Before migrating to New Zealand, Carsten studied Law at the University of Kiel, Germany, where he obtained a PhD in Laws. Following his career at university, he practised law in Bremen, Germany, from 1988 to 1994, where he was a partner in a law firm with a strong focus on business clientele.
Carsten says: "I work closely with the former manager of the Entrepreneur Team at Immigration New Zealand`s Business Migration Branch, who now specialises in market research and incorporating business plans. Together we have a wealth of experience that you will find hard to beat."

Martina Koennecke | Director

Martina Könnecke is an Associate Member of the New Zealand Law Society as well as a full member of the Hanseatic Law Society of Bremen, Germany.
Martina first came to New Zealand as a junior lawyer in 1985 to gain overseas experience in a Nelson law firm. She returned to Germany and obtained her admission to the bar in 1987. While practicing as a solicitor in Germany, she particularly enjoyed working closely with her clients on representing their interests and achieving their goals.
In 1994 Martina migrated to New Zealand and, together with Carsten, established New Zealand Immigration Concepts.
Martina looks after the business and is always happy to hear from you if you have any suggestions on how to improve our services.

Katrina Horgan | Immigration Case Manager
Katrina has recently returned to New Zealand with her family after living in the UK for 25 years.
In the UK she worked for Walt Disney Company for 22 years, holding various roles, including managing the operations team as Executive Director for 11 years, before deciding to move back to New Zealand for a lifestyle change that would give her more time with her family. We are very fortunate to have been able to add such a highly experienced professional to our team in 2016.
Katrina works closely with our Licensed Immigration Advisers and our Job Search Specialists.
Karin Widmer | Immigration Case Manager
Degree in commercial administration, HR Specialist, Diploma in Coaching, Switzerland.
Previously Karin worked in Human Resources for well-respected companies in Zurich. Combined with her own experience of moving to the other side of the world and her coaching training she is able to support our clients with compassion and understanding.
Her goal at NZIC is to support our Licensed Immigration Advisers in providing first class service to our clients.
Karin immigrated from Switzerland to New Zealand, after travelling to our country several times. She loves the diversity of the land and its people.

Ruth Shaw | Immigration Case Manager
BA (Major in Psychology) University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand
Ruth moved to New Zealand with her family when she was 8 years old and although she was young, she still remembers some highs and lows of the immigration process that her family experienced. Later on she supported her grandparents to immigrate to New Zealand to reunite their entire family.
Ruth lived in the Netherlands for two years, while on her Overseas Experience and learnt about the challenges of navigating the legislation of immigration in a foreign country.
From those personal experiences she has a good understanding and therefore empathy of the immigration process and is passionate about making the transition to New Zealand as smooth as possible for our clients.
In her role as Immigration Case Manger she provides a high level of support for our Licensed Immigration Advisers. Ruth is currently on maternity leave.

Maj is our Marketing and Business Development Coordinator. She will be your first point of contact after you have submitted your initial inquiry.
Maj liaises with our Licensed Immigration Advisers and the Job Search Team in regard to your profile and personal plans and will provide you with their professional assessment and proposal.
She began working at NZIC in 2013, before embarking on her Overseas Experience and joined our team again in July 2015.
Currently Maj is working from our European office in Milan, Italy, to reinforce our European presence and assist our clients during European business hours.
